Hace un par de semanas se llevo a cabo uno de los eventos más importante en el mundo de la moda la MET GALA un acto benéfico que da exposición del Instituto del Vestido en el Museo Metropolitano de Arte de Nueva York. Todos los años la temática varía enfocándose en un tema controversial en la industria o simplemente en un diseñador/maison como reconocimiento. El año pasado fue Rei Kawakubo la inspiración de la importante alfombra y este año la "Imaginación Católica" tomo de sorpresa a los invitados.

A couple of weeks ago took place one of the most important events in the world of fashion the MET GALA a charity event that gives exhibition of the Institute of Dress at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Each year the theme varies by focusing on a controversial topic in the industry or simply in a designer/maison as recognition. Last year was Rei Kawakubo the inspiration of the important carpet and this year the "Catholic Imagination" surprised the guests.

Muchos diseñadores costumizaron sus atuendos y hasta crearon colecciones capsulas especiales para la MET como Dolce&Gabbana,Versace y Jonh Galliano que por cierto son conocidos por tomar la religión muy en serio y añadirla a cada una de sus colecciones.Ana Wintour eligió un panel de anfitrionas bastante interesante Rihanna que marca definitivamente cada gala, Alma Clooney un ejemplo de estilo perfecto y Donatella Versace la brillante diseñadora que nos cautiva año tras año; tres mujeres poderosas en una industria bastante enfocada al género.

Uno de las mayores interrogantes es el costo de la entrada. Sabemos que la Met es un evento sumamente exclusivo y que si no estás invitado formalmente debes pagar una cifra bastante grande para acceder a la alfombra. El precio este año consto de 30.000 dólares por entrar sin embargo ascendía a 275000 si querías tener un lugar en las mesas. De igual manera las cifras de invitados subieron llegando a las 600 personas en el evento benéfico.
Many designers costumized their outfits and even created special capsules collections for the MET like Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and John Galliano who are by the way known to take religion very seriously and add it to each of their collections. Ana Wintour chose a very interesting hostess panel Rihanna that definitely marks each gala, Alma Clooney an example of perfect style and Donatella Versace the brilliant designer that captivates us year after year;three powerful women in a fairly gender-focused industry.

One of the biggest questions is the cost of entry. We know that the Met is a very exclusive event and that if you are not formally invited you must pay a large number to access the carpet. The price this year consisted of 30,000 dollars to enter however it amounted to 275000 if you wanted to have a place at the tables. In the same way the figures of guests went up arriving at 600 people at the charity event.

La pasarela es sin duda una de las mejores partes, las celebrities y diseñadores tuvieron un trabajo bastante difícil  al adecuar sus atuendos al dresscode y claro no tener un resultado irrespetuoso o intolerable. A pesar de estos límites es verdad que muchos no lograron lo previsto causando verdadero furor y desagrado en las redes.
Red carpet  is undoubtedly one of the best parts, celebrities and designers had a difficult job of adapting their outfits to the dresscode and of course not having a disrespectful or intolerable result. Despite these limits it is true that many did not achieve what was planned causing real fury and displeasure in social
 networks.

Los mejores y peores vestidos

Una de ellas fue Rihanna que con su tocado de papa desespero a mucho de sus fanáticos viéndolo como una completa ofensa, aunque el traje fuera increíble y muy bien confeccionado con detalles preciosos. Otra resaltante fue Katy Perry que tomo el tema demasiado a pecho llegando con alas gigantescas. Y la ultima anfitriona Alma Clooney  una de las pocas que impresionaron al público con su vestido pantalón bastante impresionante
One of them was Rihanna who with  Pope's miter, anger a lot of his fans who saw it as a complete offense, although the suit was amazing and very well made with cute details. Another highlight was Katy Perry who took the subject too much seriously coming with gigantic wings. And the last hostess Alma Clooney one of the few that impressed the audience with her trousers  quite awesome.

El tema fue uno de los mejores y el resultado también, muchos artistas decidieron adecuarlos a sus religiones como Solange la hermana de Beyonce que represento a una santa de su cultura, siendo un verdadero orgullo para su raza y Priyanka Chopra que tampoco abandono sus raíces vistiendo un precioso vestido con un Hiyab embellecido. Otra que también acertó fue Lily Collins con un sombrío atuendo impactante, que a pesar de constar de un vestido con líneas definidas, el tema religioso estuvo en el mejor de los casos.
 Theme was one of the best and the result also, many artists decided to adapt them to their religions as Solange sister of Beyonce who represented a saint of her culture, being a real pride for her race and Priyanka Chopra who also abandoned her roots wearing a beautiful dress with a embellised hijab. Another that was also correct was Lily Collins with a gloomy shocking outfit, which despite constaring a dress with defined lines,religious theme was at best.

Dentro de las más apreciadas también estuvo Kate Browston que con su manto eclesiástico y su delicado vestido cautivaron al público y el trío de Jared Leto,Lana del Rey y también tuvieron un gran resultado tras vestirse como la Santísima Trinidad firmada por Gucci.
Among the most appreciated was also Kate Browston who with her ecclesiastical mantle and her delicate dress captivated the public and the trio of Jared Leto, Lana del Rey and Alessandro Michele also had a great result after dressing as the Holy Trinity signed by Gucci.

Las parejas tampoco pasaron desapercibido y es que se presentaron demasiadas. Primero Kylie Jenner con su novio y padre de su hija Stormi Travis Scott que con sus públicas muestras de cariño fueron la pareja más fotografiada de la gala. Hailey Baldwim y Shawn Mendes fueron la mayor sorpresa de toda la Met, los jovenes artistas asistieron juntos como... sin embargo días posteriores definieron su relación como solo amigos algo triste pues en realidad eran demasiado adorables y claro  un dúo perfectamente vestido. Para finalizar Jlo llego con su novio Alex que ha tenido demasiada presión estos últimos días en las redes por la reciente canción de la artista, sugiriendo pedirle matrimonio a su novio.

Hailey Baldwim and Shawn Mendes were the biggest surprise of all the Met, the young artists attended together as... however later days defined their relationship as just friends something sad because they were actually too adorable and sure a perfectly dressed duo. To finish Jlo arrived with her boyfriend Alex who has had too much pressure these last days in social networks by the recent song of the artist, suggesting that he ask her  for marriage.

1-El vestido de Scarlatt Jonhansson y la oportunidad que le concede a Marchesa: desde que se dio a conocer las faltas graves que hizo el director Hearvey Weintein en la industria, todo Hollywood se volvió mucho más feministas (más de esto aquí) y prácticamente todo su trabajo fue vetado incluyendo el de sus esposa Georgina Chapman diseñadora de Marchesa. Tras las acusaciones la firma conocida por protagonizar las alfombras con sus impresionantes vestidos,muchas actrices denunciaron la obligación de su exjefe Weintein que ponía sobre ellas en el momento de elegir algún atuendo para cualquier evento público, es decir las obligaba a llevar Marchesa. Esto hizo que muchas de las clientas y artistas de Hollywood decidieran abandonar sus convenios con la firma y evitar usar sus prendas.

Sin embargo fue Scarlett Johansson que vuelve a incluir a la firma en sus circulo para vestirla en la MET 2018, agurmentando lo feliz y emocionada que sentía al llevar un Marchesa por el empoderamiento que causaba la marca en las mujeres.
1-The dress of Scarlatt Jonhansson and the opportunity that gives to Marchesa: since it was announced the serious faults made by the director Hearvey Weintein in the industry, all Hollywood became much more feminist (more of this here) and practically all his work was vetoed including that of its wife Georgina Chapman designer of Marchesa. After the accusations the firm known for starring in the carpets with its stunning dresses, many actresses denounced that them ex-boss Weinstein forced them to carry Macrhesa. This caused many of Hollywood's clients and artists to decide to leave their agreements with the firm and avoid wearing their clothes. 

However, it was Scarlett Johanson who again included the firm in her circle to dress her in the MET 2018, saying  how happy and excited she felt to wear a Marchesa for the empowerment that caused the brand in women.


2-El bronceado de Selena Gomez: la joven actriz y cantante decide llevar un muy notorio bronceado falso para la Met una decisión muy mala al ver la reacción de público. Además se le agrega los múltiples memes que su atuendo de "anciana" generó y claro su piel demasiado oscura satinada por un maquillaje demasiado brillante para sus facciones. La pobre actriz ha recibido numerosas críticas por su atuendo y en especial por sus súper bronceado ¿Estas de acuerdo con el bronceado de Selena?.
2-The tan of Selena Gomez: young actress and singer decides to wear a very notorious fake tan for the Met a very bad decision to see the reaction of public. Also added the multiple memes that her "old" outfit generated and obvious her skin too dark satin by a makeup too bright for her features. The poor actress has received numerous reviews for her outfit and especially for her super tan do you agree with Selena's tan?


3-El pomposo vestido de Sarah Jessica Parker: a pesar de que el dresscode era eclesiástico Sarah también se sobrepaso y esta vez fue demasiado. Llevaba un vestido gigantesco con inspiración barroca de Dolce&Gabbana acompañado de un tocado demasiado extravagante, que se asemejaba a un lámpara de iglesia un tanto demasiado.
3-The pompous dress of Sarah Jessica Parker: Although dresscode was ecclesiastical Sarah also overstepd and this time was too much. He wore a gigantic dress with a baroque inspiration from Dolce & Gabbana accompanied by a too extravagant headdress, which resembled a church lamp somewhat too much.
